Linda joined Connecting Families in November 2018. Linda has a Social Work Degree, a Diploma in Child Protection, Certificate IV in Community Services Family Support Work, and a Certificate in Infant Mental Health. Linda has also trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and as a Marte Meo Practitioner.
In addition, Linda has completed training in various Strengths Based therapeutic models including; Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Partnering for Safety (a Signs of Safety based model for working with families involved with child protection services). Linda has also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and more recently, Linda completed Advanced Training in Eye Movement Rapid Desensitisation Therapy [EMDR] and is now a member of the EMDR Association of Australia.
Linda previously worked in a therapeutic foster care program for children with high and complex needs, domestic violence services and in child protection, specifically with family preservation, high risk infants and family reunification.
Linda is passionate about working with families on issues that have rendered them vulnerable to relationship breakdown or issues of violence and abuse. Linda works respectfully and collaboratively with caregivers and their networks to support them to provide safe, stable, and nurturing environments for the children in their care.
