On June 28th , 2024 Connecting Families celebrated their 20th Anniversary at an event held at the Union Bridge on Franklin. This was attended by many friends and family members of the team, past Connecting Families Team members, colleagues from the Department for Child Protection, KWY, AFFS, Relationships Australia, CAFFSA, the Reily Foundation, Women’s and Children Hospital and the Youth Court. Hanging up around the room where 1,000 cut out figures representing the number of children reunified by the team in the past 20 years. A great achievement. It was a fabulous night and the speeches from the night are available here.
These include a speech by MC Colby Pearce, Colin Sparrow and Sonja Parker along with a speech by a father who wishes to remain anonymous talking of his experiences.
